I was looking at Freddy Mercury's wikipedia page and went to the site, he's only ranked #90.

Anyway I looked at the Top 20 and...there's several questionables there, for instance Alexander The Great wasn't really gay, he was Greek, most men back in those days had sex with other men, it was the masculine thing to do...apparently.

Anyway, there's other ones I really don't understand, like St. Augustine, Michelangelo? Common...

Shakespeare is very interesting because I think he was gay but he may have been more than one person lol.

Anyway I'm just interested in what gays think of this list.

There are alot of questionables.
I was surprised that the list mainly contained people who have been dead along time.Yes they were influential no question but,there are so many gay people who are influential now.Do you have to be dead to be considered influential lol I don't know.Although there were some who are alive and well also.I would have like to see more of those people.
I definetely think Freddy Mercury should have ranked higher,..just my opinion.

I think the list did good by mentioning some very prominent early gay activists.

But their use of religious offiliations really doesn't do much, I mean first off, even if it's true the list would piss of a lot of christians, and second, none of those religious affiliated persons did anything to promote homosexuality.

I mean St. Augustine? Really? Michelangelo is known for having done several christian scultures/paintings.

And yeah, I think Freddie Mercury should be Top 20, I mean I've been researching him the last year or so bit by bit and seriously, the guy was so flamboyantly gay and nobody cared, he was an icon for millions none the less, it's truly amazing to me, he was voted 52nd greatest Brit for God's sake.
