Basically. I've taken some mushrooms and I've been feeling really...fucked. I'm actually really confused and I'm going to use this empty space as somewhere I can write something down, because everything feels so distant yet so overwhelmingly embracing...

Anyway, I'm finding it hard to embrace something, if you will, that I'm not entirely sure is there. Everything's abit of a muddle, but I'm sure if you can take the time to read this then something's happening...I think I'm just overwhelmed by this feeling and of everything.

I read something really cool the other day: The nervous system can't tell the differance between a real experience and an imaginary one.

So if you're ever feeling a bit out of sorts with your surroundings, you can stop for a moment and lose yourself in a memory of a really calm, or happy time. And certain physical actions can alter. Nervous belly, tremours, whathaveyou.

I have the worst headache...I think I've done enough mushrooms for awhile. It hit me hard and fast, probably due to the fact that I was chewing the same mushrooms for about 30 minutes until they turned to liquid...Hmmm...I went through a point where everything seemed totally illogical to me, and I was really confused because I didn't understand anything at all.

i wish when people took these drugs they took the time to learn something with a "better" understanding. to really get into things like books and nature flying kites talking with friends about the unknown or even solo trips where you just lose yourself in the woods and really takel everything your subconcious mind was trying to comrehend and grasp a better understanding of yourself...

There's nothing 'wrong' with drugs as such but those who think they're accessing something more truthful through these experiences are deluding themselves. It may well mirror (or provoke) "spiritual" type experiences where perceptual boundaries break down, but spiritual experience is no "truer" a form of perception than any other, it's just different, and I would argue less meaningful and less valuable than coherent rational understanding.

It may be meaningful to you at the time, but try explaining it or even understanding it when you're 'sober' and you won't be able to, which makes me think it's usually a case of suspending your rational faculties and perhaps having a jolly good time of it, but any actual revelatory content is almost always facile in itself and a product of blunted or retarded understanding.
