am sure that we all have an opinion on the war in Iraq.
I personally disagree with it, but support all of our troups (American and others) that are over there fighting a war.
Well anyways, coming from a military family I get choked up whenever i hear of a soldier that dies. I ride with the patriot riders when I get a chance to show my support which may be a small part of support, but support none the less (for those who do not know, the patriot rides are a group of motorcyclist many are veterans that ride out to funerals to prevent protesters from pretesting at the funerals).
Anyways, a death hit home tonight and hit hit hard.
I went out on a date with a beautiful young lady that have had a "crush" on for a few years (when I say beautiful, I mean model type beautiful). Took her home, left and listen to my voice messages on my way back home. Well, one of my messages was from my my mom to inform me that a friend of mine was killed in Iraq. The funny thing was I actually found out a couple weeks ago a local died the last time I rode with the patriot riders but had no idea it was somebody I knew.
The kids name was John Young.
He actually was the brother of one of my best friends that I have known for over 15 years. When I used to be in management, I hired this kid out of high school, and although a little misguided, he was a good kid. Anyways, a few years passed as I moved across country, but always stayed in touch.
Anyways, I found out tonight that he died and have balled my eyes out since.
I honestly do not know why I am even typing this out, but if you have a prayer in you, please say one for John Young who gave all and payed the ultimate price. A true hero who gave all.
John, I love you brother, I will miss you and I hope you found a better place
