Here's a question for you? Are you a hippie if you are walking down a main city street, carrying four bags of groceries, a Dr. Pepper, have a guitar strapped to your back, and someone stops and hollers, "Hey buddy, ya need a ride?" To which you respond, "Naw, just got a ways to go." Then from the seat of his large 4X4 he says, "Ya shore, now?" and you respond, "Really, it's not far," and proceed on. :whistling
This just happened to me. I was returning from guitar lessons, had run by the grocery to pick up some needed items, and was returning home.

Fedora, Your story took me way back to when, hippie folk, traveled around with a guitar straped to their back carrying their trappins' in a sack.. at least it was an offerin' of peacefull conduct and not sticks and stones.. well.. a nice 'stone' would be cool. :)

I bet we all have good stories like these. Here's one of mine.
Setting: Gas station parking lot... me ... two Alabama rednecks....
Redneck #1 says, "Saw all that hair and thought you were a girl."
I ran my fingers thru my beard and said to redneck#2, "Your friend must know some hairy women."
Are you a hippie if ....Always thought that "Hippie is as Hippie does"
.. a nice 'stone' would be cool. Yeah, that'd be good. Hi (or high) SH, hope you & your's are doing well - XOXO
Peace,

I don't get it either, sounds more like you met a pervert that liked middle aged men with bags of food he could take after he had his way with you, you were like 8 yrs old when we started to fade away, so I would not worry about some one thinking you are a hippy today. I have a question are their two old hippy pages I thought it was the one in the members group under old hippies member group, and now I find this one, confused now.

Imo asking a guy who's loaded down and on foot if he needs a ride seems like a hippy thing to do. It doesn't make a person a hippy if they are on foot, taking guitar lessons and carrying groceries. Climbing into a car with a stranger is always risky, no harm in deciding to walk.
Silverhippy, yes.

I think I get what you said, we would help anyone in need, it was his question on if that made him a hippy that through me, but you are right it may have been a hippy type asking if he needed a ride, or it could have been a perv. By the way how have you been ?

Straight as an arrow, but thanks for asking. I've been bouncing around the different forums putting in my twisted two cents worth. 5 more months and counting till I am a free man once again. Hope all is well with you.
