Duke Ellington said there are just two kinds of music, good music and bad music. I like good music.

Such a loaded question, I'm not sure where to begin. I like the kind that plays the various 12 notes, and a bit of the noise and a bit of the funk. I saw Sonic Youth on Thursday night play "Daydream Nation" from start to finish, and it changed my life...

Atmospheric black metal (Lunar Aurora, Paysage d'Hiver, Alcest...)
Psych-/spacerock (Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Ozric Tentacles...)
Contemporary singer-songwriters (Tori Amos, Alanis Morissette...)
Wizard Rock (The Remus Lupins, Roonil Wazlib, Hermione Crookshanks Experience)
Oi!/punk/ska (Ska-P, Dead Kennedys, Broilers, Volxsturm...)
Twee (The Softies, Tiger Trap...)
Ethereal/Darkwave (This Ascension, Lycia, Dead Can Dance...)

And a little bit of everything else, really.

I like the soft rock genre. Bands from Alice Cooper to The hooters, to Heart. It really is a deep meaningful type of music to listen to. One can relate every aspect of their gothic existence into a few minor guitar riffs. In my life, you could set songs from Heart and Poison to the beat of my existence.

Hmm, everything except what's in the charts basically. metal, psytrance (Infected Mushroom, Shpongle, Lords of Acid, Spacetribe, Electric Space Project etc), jazz, blues, swing, classic rock, psychedelic rock, darkwave (Fata Morgana, Vond, Mortiis etc) and some reggae.

I'm not surprised I'm the first one to mention Bruce Springsteen here. I like owt by him, whether it's his acoustic stuff (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Zi92rsVsEQ) or when he's backed by the full band (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glcPJHm0yN0&feature=related)

However, I am surprised to be the first to mention Richard Thompson's acoustic (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-K18xQgDS3U) and electric (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Aaxeb9m9wQ) stuff. He's honestly in a league of his own.

I'm a 60's rock buff mostly. I loved many of the British groups, and still do - The Beatles, The Stones, The Hollies, Hermans Hermits, Elton John etc.

He's honestly in a league of his own.richard thompson is a legend. :) have you heard his son's stuff, teddy thompson? tis pretty good. not quite up there with thompson senior though.

at the moment my favourite music is all 60s ska, the skatalites, desmond dekker, prince buster, lord tanamo etc. so much soul and happiness, it's awesome. :D reggae, rocksteady, 2 tone and dub as well. but the old school stuff is the best.

then lots of crossover really, folk punk (levellers of course!), gypsy and balkan stuff, especially when it's been crazied up.. world music influenced drum and bass, celtic punk. proper old school 70s/80s punk and oi!, skinhead reggae. and then mellow icelandic things like sigur ros. electronica. american folky indie. oh and old american folk too, like neil young.

what i don't like is british indie at the moment. it's alright, but wouldn't choose to listen to it. if you listen to the radio enough you end up thinking, 'yeah this is alright i guess' but then only have to put the clash on or something and realise you've been brainwashed. :)
and recently i discovered an aversion to psychedelia, it's annoyingly pretentious in places. this probably isn't the place to admit that but there ya go. the floyd are ok. but meh, whiny guitar riffs and concept albums aren't my thing.

Yeh, I like all kinds. Right now, this is my final imput on these forums. But first, I will miss you all, I will think of you everyday and I will recount the many good times we had. Who knows, maybe one day we will meet again. So, here is the biggest tune I like at the moment. The group is called Scooter, they have just released an album which includes logical song. But here is one of my most liked music scores todate.

Additional: I dedicate this track to all those who keep this place alive. So long, farewell, tis for real. I am going to that other place. I am going to Fantasia!
