View Full Version : Pagan groups?
I just noticed this:
· Member Groups Forum (forumdisplay.php?f=475)
· Pagan Forum (forumdisplay.php?f=98)
· Pagan Articles (forumdisplay.php?f=486)
· Pagan Group Messages (forumdisplay.php?f=483)
· Pagan Polls (forumdisplay.php?f=487)
· Persephone's Quest (forumdisplay.php?f=443)
· The Emerald City (forumdisplay.php?f=462)
· The Sacred Spiral (forumdisplay.php?f=407)
What exactly is it?
Is it like myspace groups where anyone can create one and others join?

well, the pagan group is not very well attended here, but i was really interested in having a group where i could learn about paganism and practices. however, it's pretty sparse here. go figure.
But are they like private, or special, or made by members?

they're member groups. you can join just by clicking on it and you'll be allowed in. we're not selective.

thats not quite true, some groups have to be approved by the group leader, however I believe the pagan group doesn't have a leader, so anyones allowed in.
now the original question of whats all those groups, what your looking at there are pagan forums.
now what happens is that members can ask for a group to be set up (the groups purpose is for people to post links and reviews and pics of things of interest to that subject) on a certain subject.
If Skip approves of the group he'll set it up and then he will link all related forums to it, so what you are looking at is the pagan group and underneith are all the forums that relate to paganism linked to it- does that answer your question?

hey guys, I'm no expert but I'd love to chat about paganism any time if ya'll want to. I teach a group of college kids about wicca, green witchcraft and paganism in general. Just offering my services and metaphorical hugs. <3

I count myself as a pagan and I too would like to learn more from the experienced.

I'm agnostic... but I don't mind learning more about paganism. Where can I get more information?

we have one, but i must confess, people haven't really been forthcoming with a lot of information or community. you apply to join, and once you do, if you come across a valuable link, article or information, you can post it.

My wife is pagan, as are most of my female friends.
As I understand it, there's a lot of power out there, if you know how to harness it, and that's the danger, you gotta know what you're doing.

I joined a couple of other pagan groups in the past, but they are all pretty much reactive to questions, and don't have any real initiative by the moderators. Need to start a group of a bunch of ppl wanting and willing to learn all the basics of paganism. The thing is, they believe there is more power in constructing something yourself, rather than copying others. If you build something yourself, your effort and energy will be invested more fully in your project. If you copy someone else's idea, the effort and energy will be less focused. *Hope that's spelled right :)*
If anyone is interested, I can give you a heads up to the boards I check, but I won't post them here, since that's probably against the forum rules.
